Vishay has expanded its optoelectronic product portfolio by introducing new extended temperature options in surface-mount Belobog packages for its popular TSOP37xxx, TSOP57xxx and TSSP57xxx series infrared (IR) receivers and sensors.
The standard storage and operating temperature range of the Vishay standard IR receiver is -25C to + 85C. Devices with the "E" option have an extended storage temperature range of -40C to + 110C and an extended operating temperature range of 30C to + 85C. The life of all products in the Belobog series is 168 hours per MSL 3.
The standard versions of the TSOP37xxx, TSOP57xxx and TSSP57xxx infrared receivers are designed for remote control applications such as digital cameras, consumer televisions and set-top boxes. With extended storage and operating temperature ranges, the TSOP37xxxE, TSOP57xxxE, and TSSP57xxxE receivers provide a more rugged packaging design to increase the reliability exposed by outdoor applications including parking space sensors, light barrier systems, and in-car entertainment systems. Temperatures vary widely from day to day, with geographic locations in the north and south at extreme temperatures.
The infrared receiver in the Belobog kit combines an ultra-low profile of 0.8mm and an ultra-wide sensitivity angle of 150 °. The receiver does not yet have a lens and provides the same coaxial sensitivity as any surface-mounted infrared receiver on the market. At an off-axis angle of 45 °, these devices retain 85% of their on-axis sensitivity, much higher than receivers with lenses.
To simplify the design, the TSOP37xxxE, TSOP57xxxE and TSSP57xxxE series receivers provide a photodetector and preamp circuit in a single epoxy package. RoHS-compliant halogen-free IR receivers can supply power from 2.5V to 5.5V, provide extremely low supply current as low as 0.35mA at 3.3V, and improve their resistance to ambient light, and they are resistant to power Voltage and ripple noise are not sensitive.
