Forward looking Infrared (FLIR) Si124 makes sound visualization possible. You don't need to be an acoustic engineer to understand it either: This industrial acoustic imaging camera creates an accurate acoustic image, superimposed in real time on the digital camera's image. The mixed visual and sound images are displayed in real time on the screen, visually displaying ultrasonic information and enabling the user to precisely locate the sound source.

The device utilizes sound imaging from its 124 built-in microphones to help professionals identify leaks and partial discharges 10 times faster than traditional methods. The device filters out industrial noise, allowing professionals to "visualize" sound even in noisy environments.

The camera divides partial discharges into three types, including floating discharge, surface discharge and discharge into the air. Knowing the type and severity of emissions allows facilities to schedule maintenance to reduce failures and downtime. The device enables professionals to safely detect problems up to 100 meters away and analyze discharge patterns.

FLIR Acoustic Camera Viewer cloud service further separates the device from other acoustic imaging cameras. The captured images are quickly uploaded to the cloud service via Wi-Fi and then analyzed immediately, providing users with in-depth information such as the size and energy cost of compressed air leaks, or the classification of partial discharges and patterns of electrical failures. In addition, 8GB of storage and wireless data transfer capabilities make sharing photos and data more efficient and intuitive.

The device requires little training and can be used with one hand. Professionals can quickly identify problems through routine maintenance procedures to help utilities keep power flowing and production running.
