   ROHM offers the new RefVB MS001-EVK-001 evaluation board. It can validate ultra-efficient battery management solutions (BMS) for the expanding iot domain.

   As battery-powered electronics become more common, these devices need to become thinner and smaller to improve design and functionality, support and lower power consumption and larger battery capacity to enhance convenience and usability

   In response, the company has developed a variety of low-power analog ics, including power ics that use the original Nano Energy ultra-low current technology and charging control ics that are compatible with a variety of rechargeable batteries. Provide optimized power supply solutions to address market challenges that contribute to the long-term operation of battery powered applications. The newly released evaluation board combines these technologies to provide ultra-efficient battery management solutions for thin, compact iot devices.

   Adopt original nano energy ultra-low current consumption technology, equipped with step-down DC-DC converter IC and reset IC(voltage detection IC). In addition, it includes a battery charger IC that supports low-voltage rechargeable batteries, as well as the NGK insulator's thin, high-capacity EnerCera lithium-ion rechargeable battery. The ultra-low current consumption of the power IC (180nA static current) minimizes losses.

   Battery charger IC is very suitable for various charging voltages; It can charge, monitor and discharge batteries, making it ideal for compact iot devices. The result is a thin, ultra-efficient battery management solution with mounting components (including thin rechargeable batteries) that are only 0.6mm thick.
