Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has launched the "3000GXHH32" fast recovery diode using a press-fit package and incorporating a newly developed high-speed diode chip. This product is suitable for power converters used in DC transmission systems, industrial motor drive systems, etc. Its absolute maximum ratings for voltage and current are 4500V (reverse repetitive peak voltage) and 3000A (DC forward current), respectively.
The new product 3000GXHH32 features low conduction loss and wide reverse recovery safe operating area (RRSOA). The diode cathode structure suppresses voltage oscillations during reverse recovery, and the high voltage structure allows high temperature operation. Compared to existing products of the same package size [1], the forward current (DC) is expanded from 1500A to 3000A, the RRSOA peak power is increased by 45%, and the junction temperature rating is increased from 125°C to 150°C (max) In addition, when configuring systems with switching devices, the product can speed up turn-on by suppressing voltage oscillations during reverse recovery. Therefore, users can configure the system with 3000GXHH32 combined with Toshiba IEGT[2]ST3000GXH31A to reduce power consumption.
The 3000GXHH32 helps reduce the size and power consumption of power converters for applications such as DC transmission systems, static var compensators, and industrial motor drive systems.
