NXP Semiconductors TEA2093TS GreenChip Synchronous Rectification Controller is a dedicated controller IC for secondary-side synchronous rectification of asymmetric half-bridge flyback converters and standard flyback converters, which can be used for low output voltage or high-side rectification battery charging application. The device is produced using a silicon-on-insulator process.
The device features adaptive gate drive for maximum efficiency at any load. Typical applications include chargers, adapters, asymmetric half-bridge flyback power supplies, and very low and/or variable output voltage flyback power supplies.
The controller IC combines the sensing and driver stages to drive the SR MOSFET and rectify the secondary transformer winding output. It is designed for flyback power supplies. In this application, it can drive an external synchronous rectifier MOSFET, replacing the voltage on the secondary winding of the diode rectifier transformer.
