       Advantech has released two din rail edge computers -- ARK-1221L and ARK-1250L. The ARK-1221L uses an Intel Atom x6413E quad-core CPU (Elkhart Lake) and supports up to 32GB DDR4-2666 memory for computationally intensive iot operations. ARK-1221L leverages WISE DeviceOn to provide an iot gateway to remotely manage edge devices, reduce downtime and maintenance costs, and improve processing efficiency and productivity. Despite its compact size, it offers rich I/O for connectivity with sensing devices -- these include 2 x GbE (up to 2500 MBPS), 2 x RS-232/422/485, 2 x USB 3.2, 2 x USB2.0, and HDMI+DP. ARK-1221L offers multiple internal expansion slots, including mPCIe and M.2E and B keys, respectively, for a variety of automated applications and storage.

       Powered by an 11th-generation Intel Core i5/i3 processor (Tiger Lake), the ARK-1250L provides responsive, high-performance computing power through AI/ deep learning capabilities and low power consumption. It supports multifunctional I/O connections and more than a dozen selected iDoor I/O extension modules. These modules enhance a high degree of flexibility for a variety of AOI, AGV/AMR and industrial equipment control applications. Similarly, the ARK-1250L offers 4 x RS-232/422/485 for motors and radar sensors, 1 x optional CANbus for robotic arms, 3 x USB 3.2 for peripherals such as cameras, and 3 x GbE (2 x up to 2500Mpbs) connectivity. Its internal expansion slots include mPCIe/mSATA, M.2E keys (for Wi-Fi) and B keys (for 5G), and internal USB pins (for secure dongles) to help users enhance solution functionality.
 
        The device is built using the company's DeviceOn/iEdge to monitor machine status, real-time reaction and notification of abnormal functions through a user-friendly interface. It supports standard industrial protocols, including Modbus, OPC-UA and other basic PLC protocols. These computers offer an ultra-compact, rugged, fanless design that supports a wide operating temperature range of -40C-60C and voltage inputs. They support Windows10 and Ubuntu for easy deployment and integration. In addition, adding a TPM chip upon request enables advanced hardware-based security. Using front-end oriented I/O, this line of products supports integration of cabinets and space-constrained environments in machine vision, device control, and smart factory applications.
