     To provide manufacturers with MCU solutions equipped with components that meet the ISO 26262 functional safety and ISO/SAE 21434 cybersecurity engineering standards, Microchip Technology Inc has released the PIC32CM JH MCU. This is the industry's first MCU based on the Arm Cortex-M0+ architecture, supporting AUTOSAR, mist and secure boot.

     The device is AUTOSAR compatible, allowing vendors to switch to lower-level hardware but retain the original application code, making migration between different designs simpler. Autosar ready was created to simplify the development process and reduce overall cost. When using AUTOSAR, the company offers ASIL B MCALs for functional safety applications - providing a low-level hardware interface to the MCU.

     When paired with one of the company's Trust Anchor TA100 CryptoAutomotive security integrated circuits, the device complies with ISO/SAE 21434, the new automotive cybersecurity standard. The TA100 employs ultra-secure hardware-based encryption key storage and encryption countermeasures to root out potential backdoors associated with software weaknesses.
