The Flex Power module's PUC-BG series of DC/DC converters are packaged with the industry standard SIP7, fully packaged and installed through holes, and provide 2 W of output power. They include nominal 12v, 15v and 24v inputs and provide a dual unregulated output for asymmetric plus/minus gate drive voltages for a variety of semiconductor switches, including IGBTs, GaN, silicon and silicon carbide MosFeTs.
Unlike many similar products on the market, the Pu-BG series features 6.2 kVDC isolation, enhanced insulation, an operating voltage of 250 VAC, and IEC/EN/UL 62368-1 safety certification. The PU-BG series is ideal for isolating high-side-grid drive power supplies, with low isolation capacitance (typically less than 6 pF) that prevents excessive circulating current of high dV/dt seen in typical bridge applications such as motor drivers and inverters.
The product is rated for ambient derating from -40°C to +100°C, with full power up to +85°C in convective cooling environments. This performance is achieved by efficient designs that typically reach 80%. These components require no minimum load and provide continuous short-circuit protection.
