BQ2407xT series devices are integrated lithium-ion linear chargers and system power path management devices for portable applications with limited space. The device can be operated via A USB port or AC adapter and supports charging currents up to 1.5A. The input voltage range with input overvoltage protection supports unregulated adapters.
Simplified circuit diagram
The USB input current limiting accuracy and startup sequence allow the BQ2407xT to meet the USB-IF inrush current specification. In addition, input dynamic Power management (VIN-DPM) prevents chargers from crashing due to misconfiguration of USB sources. The BQ2407xT features dynamic Power path management (DPPM) to power the system while charging the battery independently.
When the input current limit causes the system output to drop to the DPPM threshold, the DPPM circuit reduces the charging current. Thus, a load is supplied to the system at all times while the charging current is monitored separately. This feature reduces the number of charge and discharge cycles on the battery, allows for proper charge terminations, and enables the system to operate with defective or missing battery packs
