Texas Instruments ATL431 and ATL432 are three-terminal adjustable shunt regulators with specified thermal stability over applicable automotive, commercial, and industrial temperature ranges.
The output voltage can be set to any value between Vref (about 2.5V) and 36V through two external resistors. The typical output impedance of these devices is 0.05ohm. Active output circuits have significant conduction characteristics, making them an ideal replacement for Zener diodes in many applications such as on-board voltage regulation, adjustable power supplies, and switching power supplies.
ATL43x has> Cathodic current range increased 20 times compared to TL43x. It is also stable over a wide range of load capacitor types and values.
The ATL431 and ATL432 are identical parts, but the pins and order numbers are different. The ATL43x is available in two grades, with initial tolerances (at 25C) of grades B and A of 0.5% and 1%, respectively. In addition, the low output drift vs. temperature ensures good stability over the entire temperature range.
The company said that the operating temperature range of the ATL43xxI devices is -40C to 85C, and the operating temperature range of the ATL43xxQ devices is -40C to 125C.
