Texas Instruments' TPS65320C-Q1 device is a combination of high VIN DC-DC buck converters (called buck regulators) with adjustable switching mode frequency from 100kHz to 2.5MHz and high VIN low dropout stability of 280mA Press. The input range of the buck regulator is 3.6V to 36V, and the input range of the LDO regulator is 3V to 36V. The buck regulator has an integrated high-side MOSFET. The LDO regulator has low input supply current as low as 45μA typical with no load, an integrated MOSFET, and an active-low push-pull reset output pin. When the buck regulator is operating, the input power to the LDO regulator is automatically output from it. The low-voltage tracking feature enables the device to track input power during cold-start conditions. Buck regulators provide a flexible design to meet system requirements. External loop compensation circuits optimize the converter's response under appropriate operating conditions. Low ripple pulse skip mode reduces the no-load input supply current to a maximum of 140μA. The device has built-in protection features such as soft start, current limiting, thermal sensing, and shutdown due to excessive power consumption. In addition, the device has an internal under-voltage lockout (UVLO) function, which shuts down the device when the supply voltage is too low.
