TDK InvenSense's SmartBug (MD-42,688-P) is a multisensor wireless module that can be used for a wide range of Internet of Things applications using TDK MEMS sensors and algorithms. This module combines 6 sensors, a powerful wireless (BLE) MCU, 7 algorithm driven functions, and a rechargeable battery all in a small ladybird enclosure. It also offers an add-on board option, including Wi Fi modules, SD card slots, and TDK's ultrasonic sensors.
It is the preferred module for fast and easy access to reliable and intelligent sensor data. The data from each sensor and algorithm can be accessed out of the box without any programming, welding or additional modification. This makes it the perfect catalyst for IoT product developers, algorithm developers and sensor data enthusiasts to better understand real application signatures, environmental changes and multi-sensor/algorithm behavior.
It includes ICM-42688-P 6-axis IMU, ICP-10100 pressure sensor, humidity sensor, temperature sensor, magnetic sensor, TDK optional CH-101 ultrasonic sensor, creating an integrated sensor solution. A unique feature of this module is that it provides intelligent sensor data and customized tuning parameters through IoT sensor algorithms. The algorithm includes door opening/closing detection, 6-axis and 9-axis sensor fusion, asset monitoring, HVAC filter monitoring, pedometer, activity classification, gesture and air mouse monitoring.
SmartBug data and output can be easily visualized, streamed, and recorded on Windows 10 applications (also called SmartBugs). This application can be downloaded for free from the Microsoft Store. The application provides great flexibility to obtain data from BLE, Wi Fi, or USB based on use cases. The SD card logging function also allows automatic logging of data (up to 32gb) without any Windows 10 applications.
