  HUBER+SUHNER's new three-in-one separator solution improves GPON distribution network performance by increasing fiber density. The ultra-compact design also saves up to 30% of rack space for additional equipment and applications.

   The SFO distributor fan-out cable system, developed in conjunction with a leading Swiss telecom company, converts existing distributor programs in the GPON distribution network. This cost-effective solution combines three essential components -- a patch cable, a break cable and junction box -- all in one multifunctional module.

   The system's ability to integrate into current and future rack space makes it a growing investment, enabling network operators to effectively manage future connectivity demands. By eliminating the need for separator modules, customers can increase rack space and optimize existing infrastructure and FTTH distribution.

   "Confusion and limited space were major constraints in establishing and expanding FTTH's major distribution centers and GPON network installations. Operators, installers, and maintenance teams repeatedly face the challenge of a full rack, having to connect, mark, and neatly lay many different individual cables and plug-in modules. The simple design of the SFO solution makes installation and maintenance more efficient and economical. The reduction in the number of rack parts enables customers to maximize available space.    The SFO cable system was developed for fixed-access network customers who require compact and easy-to-install GPON application solutions. OLT ports can be connected to customer ports in fiber optic main distribution frames or auxiliary distribution frames.

   At the heart of the solution is the ultra-compact splitter module, where one or two inputs are divided into up to 32 single-fiber outputs. When stacked, up to 24 conventional single-splitter boxes can be stored in a 300mm deep distribution frame. It is ideal for optimizing or upgrading existing P2P infrastructure to xPON applications. The solution provides a high degree of reliability and durability that HUBER+SUHNER leverages over 30 years of cable manufacturing experience.

   SFO can be implemented in a central allocator (data center), cable allocator, or building allocator. Depending on the area of operation, individual designs can be evaluated in advance, including labels for splitter modules, connector variants or tag clip devices.
