TDK offers PhaseCap Energy Plus, two new EPCOS PFC capacitor family. The B25674C* series is gas impregnated and offers a voltage range of 230VAC to 690VAC, with compensation ratings from 5kvar to 33.1kvar depending on type. B25675C* series capacitors are impregnated with biodegradable resin, rated voltage from 230VAC to 1000VAC, and compensation rating up to 60kvar.
These series have an unrivalled service life of up to 240,000 hours in -40/D temperature rating, IP20 anti-touch terminals and preinstalled ceramic discharge resistors. They provide up to 15,000 switch operations per year, twice as many as the earlier types. In the short term, the series can be used at temperatures of 60C, with hot spot temperatures allowed up to 85C.
The equipment type has passed self-healing certification, CE certification, and UL certification. In the event of overload, all three phases are disconnected from the mains by means of internal overvoltage isolators. The capacitors provide IP20 rated touch terminals with pre-installed ceramic discharge resistors. And the robust winding design with wave-cut technology enables the capacitors to withstand inrush currents equivalent to 500 times the rated current.
