PUI Audio's new SMT-0440 surface mount transducer is 20% smaller than its predecessor, allowing designers to add sound to smaller devices.
The overall dimensions of the SMT-0440-SR with side openings and the SMT-0440-TR with top openings are 4mm wide, 4mm deep, and 2mm high, which can accommodate even the tightest and most crowded PCBs. The device has a built-in 2 to 4V0-p square wave power supply and is capable of producing 70dB, 4kHz tones (measured at 10 cm) without consuming more than 90mA.
Applications include medical, consumer electronics, handheld devices, home automation, point-of-sale / purchasing and security products.
