Omron has introduced a new compact and efficient power relay capable of switching 5A at 250VAC for industrial control and building automation applications.
Omron said that the new G6DN is not only the smallest design on the market, but also the lowest coil power consumption, only 110mW. This makes the efficiency extremely high, because only a very small amount of energy is required to switch the relay. The width is 5mm, which is very suitable for high-density installation. The length is 20mm and the height is 12.5mm.
"Customers are under pressure to continually reduce the size and power consumption of their creation systems, and G6DN is a solution that saves them space and energy," said Andries de Bruin, senior product marketing manager for Omron Europe. "
The performance and high reliability of the G6DN has been achieved with a crossed dual contact structure and silver-plated nickel and gold-plated contacts. The relay uses an industry-standard SIL (single row) terminal arrangement to save space. The most sensitive area of the relay is completely sealed to prevent plastic dust particles from entering. Due to these design features, the G6DN is rated at 80K at 5A / 250VAC.
G6DN meets EN61010-1, EN61010-2-201 reinforced insulation and EN60335-1 basic insulation requirements. It can withstand surges up to 6kV.
