Nordic Semiconductor nRF52820 BLUETOOTH 5.3 SoC is the 6th generation of the outstanding nRF52 family of products. The nRF52820 extends the comprehensive wireless SoC family with low-end options, built-in USB and a full-featured multi-protocol radio.nRF52820 is an ideal network processor for gateway application MCU and other smart home, commercial and industrial applications that require advanced wireless connectivity.
The Nordic nRF52820 SoC uses an Arm Cortex-M4 processor with a clock frequency of 64MHz, 256KB flash memory and 32KB RAM as well as a range of analog and digital interfaces, Examples include analog comparator, SPI, UART, TWI, QDEC, and last but not least USB. The device has a voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V and can be powered by a power source such as a rechargeable battery or USB.
The nRF52820 supports Bluetooth 5.3, in addition to direction-finding, high throughput of 2Mbps, and long-range features. The SoC is capable of implementing Bluetooth mesh networking, Thread and Zigbee mesh protocols. For Human interface device (HID) applications, built-in USB and +8dBm TX power make the nRF52820 a single-chip option. In contrast, asset tracking applications can take advantage of SoC Bluetooth direction finding. It can operate in a wide temperature range from -40°C to +105°C, making it suitable for complex lighting applications.
