Murata Manufacturing announced two 2.4GHz IEEE802.11 b / g / n wireless module series based on TI CC3200 and TI CC3100 SimpleLink chipset. These tiny modules measuring 13.2mm x 21.45mm x 2.65mm greatly simplify the process of integrating wireless Internet connectivity into many embedded applications, especially in the design of the Internet of Things. These low-cost, ultra-compact modules simplify the task of providing wireless connectivity for any IoT design.
The two modules, type 1JP and type 1JQ, have SPI and UART interfaces, 16Mbit flash memory and 40MHz clock. The module is built on a PCB with all matching components and a PCB antenna, and the wireless transceiver and related logic are packaged in a metal case. Peripheral interfaces include SPI, UART, and a large number of GPIO pins for connecting sensors and other devices.
The 1JP type module (part code LBWA1ZZ1JP-928) uses the TI CC3100 chipset and is connected to a host microcontroller to control communication. Type 1JQ, part code LBWA1ZZ1JQ-929 uses the TI CC3200 chipset, which has a Cortex-M4 microcontroller and 256kB RAM, enabling it to operate as a complete "hostless" application.
Both modules are pin-to-pin compatible and will remain compatible with Simplelink's second-generation modules, allowing customers to upgrade their designs without redesigning the hardware. These modules are FCC / IC certified and CE certified by R & TTE.
