Microchip's RN2483 433 / 868MHz LoRa module integrates a modem with a range of more than 15km (suburban) and provides low power consumption to extend battery life by more than ten years. The company states that it also has the ability to connect millions of wireless sensor nodes to LoRa gateways and cloud servers connected to the IoT, because LoRa's novel spread-spectrum-based modulation technology is capable of 20dB below noise levels Demodulation. This enables high sensitivity over very long distances, improving network efficiency and eliminating interference. The RN2483 modem operates on the 433 and 868 MHz license-free industrial scientific and medical (ISM) frequency bands. It acts as an end device in the LoRa network infrastructure.
