Intersil ISL3245xE RS-485 / RS-422 transceivers have ± 60V fault protection, 3.35V power supply, and ± 20V common-mode range differential transceivers for balanced communication. The extended common-mode range is greater than required by RS-485. RS-485 has overvoltage protection of up to ± 60V and ESD shock protection of ± 15kV. These transceivers operate in environments with common-mode voltages up to ± 20V.
Suitable applications include utility meter / automatic meter reading systems, air conditioning systems, surveillance camera networks, building lighting and environmental control systems, and industrial / process control networks.
