Infineon Technology Co., Ltd. launched the fifth generation fixed frequency (FF) CoolSET product portfolio, aiming to provide appropriate key components to optimize the design. Infineon's new 800V and 950V AC-DC integrated power level (IPS) products are all packaged with DIP-7, which can meet the needs of home appliance auxiliary power supply, AC-DC converter, battery charger, solar energy system, motor control and drive applications.
The fixed frequency CoolSETTM solution integrates a PWM controller IC and the latest high-voltage CoolMOS P7 super junction (SJ) MOSFET in a single package. The expanded product portfolio includes the first power semiconductor device integrated with 950V superjunction MOSFET with avalanche breakdown resistance in the market, supporting a wider input voltage range. The new device supports both isolated and non isolated topologies, including Flyback and Buck, and can operate at 100 kHz and 65 kHz switching frequencies. Using one device to support both the Buck with low system cost and the general Flyback can simplify the customer's supply chain; The integrated error amplifier supports primary side feedback, which is a typical feature of non isolated topology. This feature further reduces the number of devices and the complexity of design.
The integrated soft drive and dithering frequency reduction mode reduces electromagnetic interference and improves the efficiency under medium and light load conditions. It supports continuous conduction mode (CCM) and discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). Under low-voltage input conditions, CCM can reduce conduction loss, thus improving efficiency and meeting international energy efficiency standards. The integrated MOSFET supports ultra wide input voltage ranges such as single-phase smart meters and industrial applications. In addition, the product can also help optimize the design of buffer circuit, further improve efficiency and reduce standby power consumption.
All new products integrate multiple self recovery protection functions, and support the power supply system through automatic restart function in case of failure. The perfect protection function and the high breakdown voltage characteristics of the super junction MOSFET further improve the stability of the power supply. In addition, active burst mode (ABM) improves light load performance and achieves ultra-low standby power consumption, and the output voltage ripple is small and controllable.
