The LT1910 is a high-side-gate driver that allows the use of low-cost n-channel power MosFETs for high-side switching applications. Available in SO-8 package. It contains a fully independent charge pump to fully enhance the N-channel MOSFET switch without external components.
Pin arrangement
When the internal drain comparator detects that the switching current exceeds a preset level, the switch is turned off and a fault flag is asserted. The switch remains off for a period of time set by an external timing capacitor and then automatically attempts to restart. If the fault persists, the cycle is repeated until the fault is eliminated, thus protecting the MOSFETs. Once the switch restarts successfully, the fault flag becomes inactive.
Typical application
The LT1910 is designed specifically for harsh operating environments, such as industrial, avionics, and automotive applications, where poor supply regulation and/or transients may exist. The device will not withstand transient power damage from -15V to 60V.
