High performance, SPI digital output, angular rate sensor

Technology Cover
發佈日期: 2022-12-31, Analog Devices Inc.

The ADXRS800 is an angular rate sensor (gyroscope) for automotive electronic stability control, vehicle rolf-detection, and other high-performance applications. The cavity plastic SOIC-16 and smt compatible vertically mounted package is capable of operating over a wide voltage range (3.3V to 5V) and temperature range (−40°C to +105°C). The advanced differential four-sensor design eliminates the effects of linear acceleration, enabling the ADXRS800 to operate in extremely harsh environments where shock and vibration are present.

Functional block diagram

The ADXRS800 uses an internal continuous self-check architecture. The integrity of the electromechanical system is checked by applying a high frequency electrostatic force to the sensing structure to generate a rate signal that can be distinguished from baseband rate data for internal analysis. The ADXRS800 can sense angular rates up to ±300°/ s. The angular rate data is presented as a 16-bit word as part of the 32-bit SPI message.
