Freescale's FXTH8715 tire pressure monitoring sensor (TPMS) is designed for applications such as tire pressure monitoring systems and ultra-low power wireless sensing. The company stated that the highly integrated TPMS provides the smallest package size on the market, at 7mm x 7mm.
The device has the lowest emission power consumption (less than 8mA Idd). They also provide the largest current storage capacity (8kB) and a unique dual-axis accelerometer architecture. The TPMS solution integrates an 8-bit microcontroller (MCU), pressure sensor, XZ axis or Z axis accelerometer and RF transmitter. These devices have a pressure range of 100-1500kPa and support medium and heavy trucks, buses and construction vehicles.
