Omron Electronic Components Europe has released a new fully sealed, ultra ultra micro micro switch with greatly improved operation and release force compared to existing solutions. As with existing device variants, the new switch is fully sealed to IP67 (excluding terminals on terminal models) and operates at temperatures up to 85 ° C. They are very small in size (8.3mm x 6.5mm x 5.3mm), making them the smallest switches of their kind in the industry.
The switch provides a ground-breaking contact design to maximize performance. The sliding contact construction enables quiet operation and high contact reliability to remove dust or other impurities. It has dual contacts that help improve reliability. The devices are delivered in different styles with different mounting structures, actuators, and terminal specifications to maximize application flexibility. Other options include crimping terminals to allow solderless PCB mounting and solder terminals, PCB terminals, and molded leads. The shape of the switch is symmetrical, the button is located in the center, and levers can be added in all directions.
Compact and flexible Omron D2GW microswitch's new bending rod can increase operating force to 1.5N and release force to 0.1N. The new model has expanded options for applications with water spray or high dust levels. These switches are ideal for vending machines, electric vehicle charging stations, smart meters, HVAC devices, security systems, white goods, and similar applications where space is expensive.
They maintain a sliding contact structure and offer the industry's smallest size in their category -- only 8.3mm x 6.5mm x 5.3mm. In addition, levers can now be mounted on the press-mounted terminals and molded wire versions on the left or right side of the switch.
