Littelfuse's C&K has expanded its miniature KSC ultra durable (TE) touch switch series, adding a 5.2mm high switch that can provide longer travel to the 3.5mm version. The service life of KSC4 TE switch series is up to 10 million times, which simplifies the design cycle and is superior to the competitive products in terms of size and force value.
The KSC4 TE switch is 6mm x 6mm in size and 5.2mm in height, providing three operating forces, 1.6, 2.8 and 4N respectively. Its compact size and design flexibility provide more space for designers to add additional functions to the final product or reduce the size of printed circuit board (PCB). In addition, since the electrical switching position starting from the PCB height is redefined and tighter tolerances are adopted, the integration of switches is easier.
The silicone contact is more convenient for tolerance management and possible preloading operation. The IP67 protection class enables it to provide strong protection against dust and water. Due to its ultra long reliability, it is not necessary to carry out expensive maintenance or replacement work. This light touch switch is suitable for various demanding applications, including computer peripherals, drones, elevators, games, industry and medical care
Regis Clement, global product manager of C&K, said, "The name of super strong and durable has explained everything. The silicone contact and improved internal structure enable KSC TE to provide a fairly long life cycle and high reliability. We are the first company in the market to provide a solution of 6mm x 6mm size. This will have a significant impact on the entire industry worldwide."
