   Rhodes & Schwartz announced that a new small cell testing option for the R&S CMP200 radio communication tester has been certified by Qualcomm Technologies. Oems with small battery infrastructure equipment operating in the mmWave range (FR2) can now use the small battery QDART and benefit from the unique features of the R&S CMP200, such as ultra-fast measurement speeds and parallel testing of multiple DuTs.

   Small cells offer network operators the opportunity to increase the capacity of their existing wireless networks and meet the data capacity requirements created by 5G use cases. They can be used for public and private networks in scenarios inside or outside buildings, creating a growing need for small cellular infrastructure. The Qualcomm FSM100 5G RAN platform is adopted by numerous manufacturers and cellular infrastructure providers worldwide for its scalability and cost effectiveness. Its form factor size and power levels are designed to manage the indoor and outdoor density requirements of 5G networks and the fast-paced 5G network upgrades.

   Solutions created for r&d and production environments are optimized for user device testing and corresponding validation of Qualcomm technology. With the addition of small unit testing capabilities and QDART support for small units, the test platform is intended to be a long-term investment for OEM companies.
